Description: This design was inspired by the copper ornament shown on the first page of the text. I have always loved hearts and this pair was ideal for creating an elegant rectangular box with double borders. The two hearts are the main focal point and are filled with unusual composite patterns (Ann’s specialty!). Both shapes have several decorative tendrils in red Facets metallic and fluffy silk chenille outlines. The borders are composed of couched rows of Very Velvet and Sparkle Rays (in different weights since the diamond outlines are slightly narrower). The triangular corner areas are filled with an unusual open pattern of mirrored hearts, and the background area around the hearts has a blackwork pattern with repeated horizontal motifs that reinforce the elongated diamond shape. All of the stitch treatments feature some gold metallic accents as well.
